Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth was showcased during the latest State of Play presentation by PlayStation, providing us with a plethora of new details as well as a release date. With the announcement of the release date, pre-orders naturally follow, and Square Enix has unveiled a few fancy editions for those willing to spend a bit more money on the game. One of them, however, is causing a stir as the Collector's Edition comes with a large statue of the beloved Final Fantasy character Sephiroth.
Originally shared by Wario64, the Collector's Edition can now be pre-ordered from the official Square Enix Store at the proud price of $349.99/£349.99, but it offers a lot in return. Fortunately, this Collector's Edition actually includes the physical game, which is rather rare nowadays. In addition, you will receive an artbook, a steelbook case, a physical copy of the game's soundtrack, and a whole bunch of small DLC bonuses that you can redeem once you get your hands on the game next year.
However, the centerpiece of the Collector's Edition is the large Sephiroth statue, featuring our favorite villain standing on a concrete pillar surrounded by flames. It's quite sizable, measuring approximately 48 cm/19 inches (hello Spider-Man 2 fans), which means you'll definitely need to make some room if you order it. It also comes with a detachable wing, in case you prefer the classic Sephiroth look.
As for the timing of when you can bring Sephiroth into your home, your pre-order is expected to be shipped on the game's release date, as Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is finally set to be released on February 29th next year. In addition to the release date, the latest trailer of the game has shown us a lot more gameplay footage, including a first look at the playable character Cait Sith and a preview of Vincent Valentine.
With this announcement, it seems like Final Fantasy is going to have quite a big year in 2024. Not only are we excited for Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, but we also have the next expansion for Final Fantasy 14 called Dawntrail, which will be released next summer. We have also recently received confirmation from director Naoki Yoshida that Final Fantasy 16 will receive two paid DLC packages in the future, as well as a release for the PC. It's a great time to be a Final Fantasy fan.
