Armored Core 6 is primarily a game developed by FromSoftware, which means it demands players to overcome truly strong adversaries. Those who have fought through the first hours of the game know that there are various skill tests that likely led some to set the game aside for good. If you are among those, you might consider giving Armored Core 6 another chance, as the latest update of the game has toned down some of the most notorious boss battles.
Three specific boss battles have been toned down, namely Balteus, the Sea Spider, and the coral-controlled C-Weapon encountered in the mission "Reach the Coral Convergence." The complete list of patch notes, available on the official Bandai Namco website, explains that certain attacks performed by these machines have been adjusted and appear to be far less aggressive than they were previously in the game.
The nerfs to Balteus will likely be well received by some people, as it is the most challenging skill test in the entire game. Most newcomers who managed to defeat the game's tutorial boss were quickly filtered out by Balteus, who presented himself as a rather difficult challenge even for experienced Armored Core players. Now that he has been somewhat toned down, hopefully, he will be somewhat more manageable for those of you who previously gave up.
What was actually changed in each boss battle has already been discovered by Armored Core 6 fans through investigations. It turns out that Balteus' missile tracking is slightly worse than before. It also seems that all resistances of the Sea Spider have been reduced, and the energy damage caused by the IB-01: CEL240 in its second phase has also been reduced. There may be further changes, but these are the ones found so far.
In addition to these nerfs, FromSoftware has apparently also improved a range of weapons, including a selection of machine guns that felt relatively weak compared to heavier weapons like the ever-reliable Zimmermans. Many of these weapons can also be obtained early in the game, so these enhancements should make the initial boss battles and missions easier.
Obviously, they don't make it super easy either, so you'll still have to work hard to defeat them. For those who have already beaten them, they can take pride in having conquered some bosses that even FromSoftware thought should be toned down a bit.
