The PS5 unveils 3 new cover colors and controllers

Sony unveils three new metallic covers for the PS5 console and DualSense controllers as part of the Deep Earth Collection, offering fans the opportunity to personalize their PS5 collection.

Pre-orders for the Volcanic Red, Cobalt Blue, and Sterling Silver colors will be available starting from October 4th.

The Volcanic Red and Cobalt Blue versions will be released on November 3rd, while the Sterling Silver version will be available on January 26th.

Sony has unveiled three new metallic covers for its PS5 console and DualSense controllers, namely the colors Volcanic Red, Cobalt Blue, and Sterling Silver, as part of the Deep Earth Collection. Each one looks impressive and helps to personalize a person's PS5 collection, although it is hardly comparable to the recent sales of the Marvel's Spider-Man 2 PS5 consoles.

In addition to introducing these new colors, Sony has also confirmed the pre-order and release dates. Fans should note that the Volcanic Red and Cobalt Blue PS5 colors will be released in a few months, while the Sterling Silver color will be available in early 2024.

Interested individuals can pre-order all three of these Deep Earth colors starting from October 4th. The covers will be priced at $59.99, and the controllers will be priced at $74.99. After this pre-order date, the PS5 Volcanic Red and Cobalt Blue colors (both cover and controller) will be released on November 3rd, while the Sterling Silver colors will be available on January 26th next year. Each of them will feature a metallic finish, with Volcanic Red sporting a bold red hue, Cobalt Blue showcasing a vibrant blue tone with underlying violet accents, and the Silver set having a blue undertone to the silver. To emphasize the popularity of new controllers, Xbox recently introduced an Astral Purple color, and it appears that fans on both sides are excited about these customization options.

As for the hardware, this was essentially the PlayStation State of Play, but several games were also showcased. The biggest highlights were undoubtedly Spider-Man 2 and Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. The former showcased gameplay, elements of world-building and exploration, as well as confirming an impressive total of 65 suits to heighten anticipation for the October release date. In general, the major AAA games did not overshadow the smaller reveals, which demonstrates how well-paced and executed this event was. Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth showcased several important details, including gameplay and more, and confirmed a release date in February 2024. This means that fans can play the upcoming game with the red, blue, or silver covers and controllers if they wish.

Another major reveal was the Beyond the Dawn DLC for Tales of Arise, which introduces a new character and plunges the group into another conflict. Further details are yet to be unveiled, but since it will be released in November, fans can check it out with the Volcanic Red and Cobalt Blue colors if they wish.
