The scheduled release periods for the initial wave of downloadable content (DLC) fighters in Mortal Kombat 11 have been disclosed

NetherRealm Studios has provided information on the planned release schedule for each character in the first Kombat Pack of Mortal Kombat 11. This reveals the order in which they will be released and gives us an idea of the waiting period for each character.

After the initial announcement of the first Kombat Pack a few months ago, there has been a lack of updates from NetherRealm Studios. However, they have now provided us with a detailed preview of the first post-launch character that will be added to Mortal Kombat 11 - Omni-Man. In addition to showcasing some of Omni-Man's moves, the trailer also confirmed that the character is scheduled to be added to the game in November, although the exact date has not been specified.

In addition to the mentioned update on Omni-Man, NetherRealm Studios also shared further details regarding Mortal Kombat 11's first Kombat Pack. In a press release following the showcase of the Omni-Man trailer, they disclosed the planned release schedule for the remaining DLC characters in the first wave, along with providing additional information about some of the expected cameos.

Release Windows For Mortal Kombat 1

Starting with the fighters, as they are undoubtedly the main highlight of the pack. The press release confirms that the next character scheduled for release is Quan Chi, with an expected release window of "Winter 2023/2024". Following Quan Chi, the release of Peacemaker is also mentioned, with a similar release window of "Winter 2023/2024". However, it is likely that Peacemaker will come after Quan Chi since he was shown as the third character in the Kombat Pack reveal trailer.

Continuing with the release schedule, in "Spring 2024" we can expect the arrival of Ermac and Homelander, coinciding with the release of the next season of The Boys. While both characters are listed for a spring release, it is probable that Homelander will come after Ermac since there is uncertainty regarding Anthony Starr's involvement in voicing the character, indicating that his development may not be as advanced. Lastly, we have the highly anticipated addition to the Kombat Pack, Takeda, set for a release window in "Summer 2024".

While it may seem a bit unusual that Takeda is being released last despite being shown as the fifth character in the Kombat Pack reveal, it could be a strategic decision by Warner Bros. They might be aiming to release Homelander before Takeda to coincide with The Boys. For devoted fans of Takeda, the wait might indeed be challenging and agonizing.

The press release further confirmed the inclusion of five new cameo fighters in the Kombat Pack. These fighters are Tremor, as revealed in the Omni-Man trailer, Ferra, Janet Cage, Khameleon, and Mavado, which were accidentally confirmed by Amazon when Mortal Kombat 11 was initially announced. Notably, Janet Cage was initially mentioned as Johnny Cage, suggesting that the character's identity may have been intentionally concealed to preserve the surprise or altered during the development process.
