Although the world in The Sims 4 appears to lack external threats, there is still the possibility of pursuing a military career path. This career can be quite demanding, but it transforms your Sim into an embodiment of discipline and fitness. If you are considering joining this career, we are here for you.
In this guide, we will cover everything you need to know about the military career path in The Sims 4. This includes topics such as getting started, the two career branches, and the rewards for promotions.
The military career can only be started with the StrangerVille DLC. This DLC brings along a peculiar new town, along with the physically demanding military career.
How To Join The Military Career
To join the military career, you can use either your Sim's cellphone or computer. From either location, you can navigate to the career tab and select the option to find a job.
If you don't have a job yet, you can also simply go to the career panel in your Sim's profile. Instead of displaying a job, there will be a button that takes you to the career selection panel shown above.
From here, you have the opportunity to enlist in the military as a Raw Recruit. This job pays §26 per hour, from Monday to Friday, from 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
What You Need To Get Started
For the military career, you don't need any special equipment to get started; all you need is your body and some space to train!
If you wish, you can visit a fitness center and purchase exercise equipment for your home. However, they are not necessary as simply walking around already counts as exercise and increases your fitness skill.
Similar to other careers, the military career will later branch out into two paths. We will delve into these in more detail later, but if you want to get a head start in your career, you can also increase your logic or charisma skills.
All Career Levels & How To Get Promoted
The military career consists of ten levels. The first five levels are standard, but after that, you must choose a branch to follow.
The two branches are the Secret Agent and the Officer. The Secret Agent is essentially a spy for the military and bears some resemblance to the Men in Black. If you choose this branch, you will also need to improve your logic skill. The Officer branch is similar to a typical military job. Instead of focusing on logic, you will need to enhance your charisma skill.
Below, you can review the details for each level of the military career. For the most part, the military career follows a fairly rigid schedule.

Daily Tasks
Each career level has daily tasks that are randomly generated for the military career. The tasks generally relate to the skills required for the job. For example, in the first few levels, you will often be prompted to train, engage in combat, or march around.
As the name suggests, you must complete these tasks on a daily basis. If you miss one or two days, don't worry! It will not have a negative impact on your career, and you can still be promoted as long as you meet the promotion requirements.
In the Secret Operations branch, your daily tasks are related to logic and stealth. These activities include monitoring Sims, playing chess, or creating reports. The daily tasks in the Officer branch focus on charisma. Such tasks involve giving orders, sharing war stories, and recruiting others.
How To Get A Promotion
To get promoted, you simply need to go to work, complete promotion tasks, and fulfill your daily tasks. While at work, you can also adjust your behavior. By clicking on the small arrow next to your Sim's icon in the lower left corner of the screen, you can select the way your Sim works.
If you want to advance in your career, you can choose to work hard. Certain moods will add new options; for example, confident Sims can flatter their boss. While this boosts work performance, there is also a chance of embarrassing oneself, so be cautious when flattering!
