The Sims 4: Guide to Using the Real Estate Cheat

In The Sims 4, the costs of apartments can be high, and the starting funds for new families are not particularly high. You may want to have a reasonably sized house for your Sim without simply cheating a million Simoleons into your account. This is where cheats come into play.

The real estate cheat allows you to acquire all houses on the map for free, so you can establish a household with the starting funds acting as a buffer until you start earning money. Here's how you can activate it.

How To Get Your Household Ready To Move

Assuming you want to move in a new family, you must either:

• Click the Sim icon in the bottom right of the map to Create A New Household
• Click the icon with 2 Sims and a pen in the top right to select Manage Households
• Click the light bulb icon to enter the gallery

The first option allows you to create a family from scratch in "Create a Sim" using random designs from the game or the gallery. Once you accept the family, you will be taken back to the map.

The second option allows you to select a family that already exists in your game, either created by Maxis or not present in the world. You need to choose "Move Household onto Lot" to return to the map.

The third option allows you to search and download a family from the gallery. From there, you need to choose "Place Household" (bottom right) to return to the map.

Once you are on the map screen for your selected game world and your family is ready to move, it's time to cheat.

How To Enable Cheats On All Platforms

Before you can enter a cheat code, you need to enable cheats. Press the following keys simultaneously to activate the text field:

Once the text field appears in the top left corner, enter the following as shown below:

• testingcheats true

After pressing Enter or confirming, you should see a message stating: "Cheats are enabled."

Now, in this text field, you need to enter your cheat code to obtain free housing.

How To Use The Free Real Estate Cheat

Once you are on the correct map, follow the instructions mentioned above to bring up the cheats field, enable cheats, and then enter the following:

freerealestate on

After pressing Enter or confirming, you can check if this has worked by noticing that all free lots are surrounded by a green border.

Your Sim can now move into any lot for free. If you change your mind about the world you want to live in, you can still navigate through the maps using the globe icon without having to re-enter the cheat.
