Creating your Sim and dressing them up is half the fun of The Sims 4. But what if you could do the same for townie Sims too? Since NPC outfits often leave much to be desired, the most fashion-forward Sims can become style influencers and either work on styling Sims or create the hottest trends.
In this guide, we provide a comprehensive overview of the Style Influencer career in The Sims 4, including the variety of skills you need to work on to advance. We also have the schedule, pay, and promotion requirements for each level.
Style Influencer Career Overview
Be It Or Make It: Choose Between Trendsetter And Stylist
For those who are most interested in the "Create-a-Sim" mode, a career as a Style Influencer could be just the right fit for you. With this career, you will perform makeovers and set the latest fashion trends!
You can choose your specialization in the Style Influencer career starting at level five, but that gives you plenty of time to build up the required skills. And that's a good thing because each path requires many skills.
The two career paths available in The Sims 4 for the Style Influencer career are:
- Trendsetters are the ones out there in the streets making a statement with their clothing and accessories.
- Stylists, meanwhile, are focused on keeping up a social media presence, which entails all kinds of creativity.
Regardless of which career path you choose, you will need to work on four skills:
- Charisma
- Painting
- Photography
- Writing
None of the skills need to be maxed out, but you will find that you need to invest a lot of time in creativity to advance in your career. However, you must reach certain skill levels to maintain your final promotion, so be sure to continue improving your skills.
Skills start appearing early on in the days of the Style Influencer career, so it's a good idea to build up one or two skills before applying.
Make A Name With Get Famous
For those playing the "Get Famous" expansion pack, it's a great opportunity to gain fame as a Style Influencer.
The majority of your work in the Style Influencer career can and will contribute to your fame regularly, as most of the required skills naturally increase fame.
For example, since you need to learn the painting skill, you can sell paintings to earn money quickly while also improving your skill, which also increases your fame.

See NPCs Wearing Your Trends
Depending on which branch of the Style Influencer career you have chosen, you will unlock the ability to set trends. Once you start creating them, you will see your work around town when it truly becomes the next trendy hit.
The trends are divided into male and female categories, and you can create up to five trends per category.
After creating trends, you may see NPCs wearing the exact outfit you have created. You can also give them a makeover to manually put them in the outfit, but it's always nice to see them wearing your looks on their own and looking stunning!
