The Slender Man game is returning with major upgrades

Slender Man is making a comeback this fall with a major update for the 10th anniversary of Slender: The Arrival. Over 10 years after its original release, Slender: The Arrival is being updated with significant improvements, additional features, and new story content.

Slender: The Arrival was first released on PC in March 2013, coinciding with Slender Man's peak of online popularity. In the following years, the horror adventure title was launched on modern platforms such as the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, with significant bug fixes and adjustments. While interest in Slender Man waned in recent years, Blue Isle Studios has worked hard to develop new content and updates for Slender: The Arrival. Blue Isle Studios teased a comeback for Slender: The Arrival last June and the studio is ready to share what will be released in October.

In a new blog post, Blue Isle Studios announced that the Slender: The Arrival 10th Anniversary update will be released on October 18th. This special update includes a new chapter of the story, graphical improvements using Unreal Engine 5, and additional language support. Steam users who already own Slender: The Arrival will receive the new update for free and will have the option to switch between previous versions of the game by accessing the properties on Steam. Blue Isle Studios released a new gameplay trailer to tease the new chapter of the story, and "big plans for future expansions" will be revealed in an upcoming roadmap, according to the studio's latest blog post.

In addition to the new update, Slender: The Arrival will be available for the first time at a price of $19.99 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and the Epic Games Store. The price of the Steam version will be increased from $9.99 to $19.99, so players who want to save money can purchase the title before the release date. Furthermore, with the new update, Slender: The Arrival supports higher frame rates and resolutions, and the new PC system requirements list 16 GB RAM and an RTX 3070 graphics card for recommended settings.

Although Slender: The Arrival was not well-received upon its initial release, the new 10th Anniversary update aims to provide a more polished and visually appealing experience on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. Unfortunately, the new update will not be released on last-generation platforms such as PS4 and Xbox One, so repurchasing the title will be necessary for players who want to experience the continuation of the Slender: The Arrival storyline. This could be due to limitations regarding the Unreal Engine 5 on older platforms.

So far, the 10th Anniversary update for Slender: The Arrival appears to be very promising due to its significant improvements and low price on current platforms. These upgrades are crucial to deliver an immersive horror title with the ominous Slender Man as the central antagonist.
