A Starfield player has built an incredibly tall ship with a ladder reminiscent of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. This showcases the flexibility and creativity in ship design within the game.
Starfield allows players to build their dream spaceship, even if it means constructing a towering flying apartment complex.
The ship building process is a significant part of the Starfield experience, allowing players to create ships inspired by various sci-fi franchises and tailored to their in-game needs.
A Starfield player has built their ship so tall that the ladder connecting the ship's levels seems to come straight out of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. This absurdly high ship is just another example of how Starfield allows players to build the spaceship of their dreams, even if that dream involves constructing a flying apartment complex.
The shipbuilding process is an integral part of the Starfield experience as it allows players to transform their ship into anything they desire, be it Obi-Wan Kenobi's Jedi Starfighter from the previous Star Wars installments or the Batplane from Tim Burton's 1989 Batman. The system may be intimidating at first, but once players get the hang of it through trial and error, they are rewarded with the satisfaction of creating a ship according to their own design, best suited to their in-game needs.
The footage comes from a member of the Starfield subreddit named Hostgr. The video starts with the player already several floors above the ladder and continues for another 30 seconds as they climb the ladder until reaching the top. They even added in the James Bond-inspired Snake Eater theme, playing while Big Boss ascends the infinitely long ladder in the PS2 classic.
The ship appears to be eight or nine stories high, and it probably takes nearly a full minute to go from the bottom to the top floor. That's a lot of cargo space. In response to a comment requesting a picture of the ship from the outside, Hostgr stated that they would release it at a later time since the construction is not yet entirely finished. However, they are attempting to build a Starfield version of Naglfar, a dreadnought ship from Eve Online. Naglfar ships are massive vessels that resemble jagged swords and move through space. Where the classic conception of a spaceship, as seen throughout the history of science fiction, extends the body of the ship horizontally like an airplane, Naglfar ships are vertically arranged and essentially look like floating skyscrapers that could populate an urban skyline.
Some players design their ships as if they were ripped straight out of the few extremely popular science fiction works like Star Wars that everyone knows and loves. However, there is at least one Starfield player who takes a different approach by finding their inspiration in spaceships from niche science fiction universes.
Starfield is now available for PC and Xbox Series X/S.
